Yellowstone & Teton trip June 21-28th 2010

One of the stainglass windows in the Chapel near the Tetons.

Still open for services here.

The tallest peak on the left is the Grand Teton.

A view of Jenny Lake below the Tetons.

One of our 4 bear sightings in Yellowstone & Tetons.

More of Jenny Lake.

One of the thermal holes within the Old Faithful 3 mile hike around the plank.

These little gophers were everywhere around Old Faithful grounds.
Another thermal hole. These varied in colors & were very interesting.Fire Hole Falls in Yellowstone Park. The falls were very plentiful throughout Yellowstone.

Bison were plentiful along the highways & sometimes 50-100 at a time.

A Mormon settler's barn that is a visitor's delight these days, as it is a main attraction on some of the tours. Beautiful background setting with the Tetons in the not too far distance.
A cabin left standing, just outside of the town of Kelly. Buck N Rail fencing, that they still use in Jackson areas. No post hole digging necessary with this type of fen Below is OLD FAITHFUL erupting. It erupts about every 45 min. these days.

The Grand Teton off in the distance on a very beautiful day. You never get tired of this type of beauty. It looks different every day.

Rocky Mtn. Nat'l Park June 28-July 2nd 2010

Dopey was my horse on the two hr. trail ride in the Rockies. She was in heat, so when the trail master saw that I had riding experience, guess what? I got to ride Dopey at the end of the line. She was the only female & was a great horse. She tested me a couple times when we had to get off the trail to let other riders come through, but when she realized I knew how to handle her, she accepted it & we continued through the park, with creeks & many beautiful views to share.
This is Spraque Lake & a hail & rain storm hit us while we were walking this 1/2 mile trail. Made for an interesting hike, and I was just thankful it was a short hike.
This female moose was lounging in a meadow near a campground as we came back down from the top of the Rockies. We observed her for a good 45 min. & got lots of great pics.

Beauty everywhere!

The valley below-coming out of the mountains. Saw alot of women on motorcycles this day. I spoke to one lady on a 3 wheeler that must have been in her 60's traveling along. She had met her son & his family in Estes Park & was heading back to Vegas on her bike, by way of the Trail Ridge in the Rockies.

Bear Lake was another cool 1/2 mile hiking lake trail. This was the most scenic of the short trails that we walked.

Day at the zoo with Morgan & Shannon

This was one huge Gator!!! Love the reflection effects.
Making friends with the kangaroo statue.

Wow, finally the train ride that she loves so much. As you can see, she is a tired little girl by now.

It was like Morgan was wanting the cow to speak or look at her.

So glad it only got to 96 degrees this day, and only the 1st day of June. We made the best of it in 3 hrs. & had a wonderful time.

Easter Egg Hunt at Nana's Lakeview Park

Morgan attended her very first Easter Egg Hunt this morning, at the park in our subdivision that is just 3 houses to the left. There to watch her were me, of course, Grandpa, Uncle Casey & CJ. There were two bounce houses, but we opted for the slides & swings & thought perhaps next year, she will be old enough to bounce with the other 2 year olds. She picked up all 6 eggs, at a very slow pace, and such a seriousness. I was hoping that she would get 6 eggs her first time, and she did.

Field of many many eggs. The hardest part was standing at the rope waiting for them to drop it, and the little ones that were about 3 were trying to pick up the eggs before start time. That 5 min. was a long time to keep them waiting, but photos were being taken for our next newsletter.

Morgan was happy to have some of her family here to watcch this first time event.

Little angel with a BIG basket, just people watching & such a serious look. Just like the ones her Mommy used to have as a tot.

We play at this park all of the time, when the weather is pretty. She hardly ever see's more then one other child here at the same time. Now there were 60 kids with parents & she is

What a precious little girl!!

Another Royal Flush in Phoenix at Wild Horse Pass Casino

Yep, I hit another Royal Flush. I was speechless and in disbelief for a few seconds. This one was plentiful. I feel a new set of golfclubs coming my way soon.
One of my friends, told me I should buy lottery tickets while my luck is running. Thinking I will.

Pleasant weather & fun at Nana's park

She got to try the big slide with Uncle Casey. He won her over with play time!!

Conversation about what to do next. Getting ready to go down the smaller slide.

Morgan at the wheel. (learning to drive)

This was a great weather day, compared to the past two months, and she had two trips to the park & an hour of backyard, helping Nana do dead plant & doggie cleanups. What a fun day!!
